Bio:
Yuan Li is Acting Professor (W2) and Chair for East Asian Business and Economic Studies at the Institute of East Asian Studies of the University of Duisburg-Essen. He is the President of the Chinese Economic Association (Europe/UK). He is also the main founder of “The International Forum on the New Silk Road and Sino-European Cooperation”. Prior to this, he had been Assistant Professor in Stockholm School of Economics; Visiting Researcher in University of California, San Diego. He got his Ph.D. in economics from Catholic University of Milan. His publications appear on leading international journals such as The Economics of Transition, Journal of Institutional and Theoretical Economics, European Journal of Political Economy, etc. His research interests include: Chinese Economy, Institutional Economics, and the Belt and Road Initiative. He is an invited expert of the laboratory on “Trade and Investment of the Belt and Road Initiative” at the Chongqing Academy of Social Sciences, PR China.
